The founders of Wahoo’s Fish Taco reiterated in a statement Tuesday they’re still open for business in a fast-changing landscape as businesses grapple with continuing to operate amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company’s offering take-out and delivery service through Door Dash and Grub Hub, encouraging the use of debit or credit cards rather than cash. Operating hours are 12 to 7 pm. and customers are allowed to come into the restaurants to place their orders.
“The crisis remains fluid, so we will adapt accordingly as more information comes out,” the company said.
Prior to California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s executive stay-at-home order, co-founder Ed Lee told the Business Journal in an interview last week staff had been trained on sanitation guidelines in the restaurant with stores removing half their chairs and tables.
“I honestly don’t know how single-unit operators are going to survive this,” Lee said, while thinking of friends within the industry.
