Irvine-based Taco Bell Corp. said it’s testing a vegetarian taco, dubbed the Cravetarian Taco, at its Tustin location on Red Hill Avenue.
The chain said it would test the plant-based menu item, which serves as a vegetarian version of its Crunchy Taco Supreme, through April 29. It’s listed on the menu with a $2.19 price.
The company confirmed in a news release it continues to work with El Segundo-based Beyond Meat on a protein separate from what’s currently being served with the Cravetarian Taco.
The test is part of a push by the company to ramp up its vegetarian menu items this year.
