Irvine-based The Habit Restaurants Inc. is set to see the opening of its first location in Cambodia, about a year after first announcing a franchise deal there.
The new location is being opened by franchisee Kampuchea Tela Company Ltd., which signed a multi-unit deal with the burger chain for Cambodia.
Habit currently has eight locations overseas, all in China. Cambodia marks the second expansion to an international market for the business.
Habit currently counts more than 275 restaurants in 14 states. It is part of Yum Brands Inc. (NYSE: YUM) – parent to Irvine-based Taco Bell Corp. – which acquired the business in March for $375 million.
