Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) said it will run its first-ever national television commercial with an athlete July 5.
The Newport Beach-based restaurant operator’s spot features American soccer player Julie Ertz and will run during the U.S. Women’s National Team game against Mexico.
The commercial is part of a much larger marketing campaign that includes videos under the company’s “Unwrapped” series and athletes’ favorite menu items available to order through the Chipotle app and website.
Chipotle, with a market cap of $39.3 billion, totals more than 2,800 restaurants.
