San Juan Capistrano start-up GenieDB Inc. has raised $3.5 million, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The cloud computing service provider, which is part of OC investor Stuart Frost’s tech incubator Frost Venture Partners, could raise an additional $500,000 in the funding round.
GenieDB, established in 2011, has raised about $9.1 million to date, according to San Francisco-based funding tracker CrunchBase.
The company’s technology quickly migrate web applications run by small-to-medium-sized businesses to major cloud providers such as Amazon AWS, HP Cloud, Rackspace Cloud and Google Cloud. The service is billed to help reduce latency, eliminates downtime and scale company databases.
GenieDB was seed funded by Corona del Mar-based Miramar Venture Partners.
