Santa Ana-based custom labels maker The Label Co. has been acquired by Resource Label Group in Franklin, Tenn.
Terms were undisclosed.
The Label Co. prints custom labels for businesses in various industries, including cosmetics, food, entertainment and other consumer products. The privately held company does not disclose its financial details.
The Label Co. was founded in 1986 by K. Ivan and Laura Narragon, who sold the business to Margie Martinez and Eric Jones in 2003. The company has about 32,000 square feet of manufacturing space between its Santa Ana and Hackensack, N.J. facilities.
Resource Label provides label design and production services. It’s part of the investment portfolio of First Atlantic Capital Ltd, a New York-based private equity firm that acquired a majority interest in Resource Label in 2011.
First Atlantic looks for investments with “transaction values between $100 million and $500 million,” and has invested more than $830 million since its inception in 1989, according to its website.
