Irvine-based RJI Ramirez Jimenez International CPAs has acquired an accounting firm in the Inland Empire on undisclosed terms.
RJI is among the largest accounting firms with operations in Orange County. It ranked No. 26 on the latest Business Journal list of accounting firms, with 39 employees here. It’s the 14th-largest among companies that are based in OC.
The buy of Riverside-based Robert J. Casillas Accountancy Corp., or RJC Accountancy, became effective Jan. 1. It’s expected to help RJI expand geographically and in specific sectors, including manufacturing, real estate and restaurant services, said RJI Chief Executive Fernando Jimenez.
RJI Chairman Manuel Ramirez said RJC Accountancy will bring five employees and be rebranded as part of RJI. Robert Casillas, who has headed his namesake firm for 25 years, will serve as partner-in-charge of the Riverside office.
Financial details of RJC Accountancy weren’t available, but Ramirez said Casillas “has built a very sizable practice.”
RJC Accountancy also has an office in Laguna Niguel that will be folded into RJI’s headquarters in Irvine.
