Irvine-based motorcross apparel company Fox Head Inc. is reportedly on the sales block and seeking more than $200 million.
Bids could come from private equity investors as well as strategic buyers, according to Deal Pipeline, a transactions-oriented trade publication, which said Fox Head recently hired investment bank Robert W. Baird & Co.
A lineup of potential bidders is said to include Greensboro, N.C.-based jeanswear company VF Corp. and Iconix Brand Group, a New York-based brand management firm that owns various apparel brands.
Fox Head had about $230 million in recent annual revenue.
The company was founded by Geoff Fox in 1974 as Moto-X Fox, a manufacturer of suspension and engine components for racers.
