Irvine-based gym operator LA Fitness International LLC has leased 47,000 square feet of retail space for 15 years at 27441 Crown Valley Parkway in Mission Viejo. The company plans to open a gym by 2012 at the Kaleidoscope shopping center. LA Fitness is taking over space that housed a Bristol Farms store that closed two years ago. Kaleidoscope is a 241,000-square-foot, three-story mall built in 1998. The mall went into receivership last year and was bought by Connecticut’s Westport Capital Partners LLC for $22 million. Mark Baziak, Terrison Quinn and Mark Jones of Grubb & Ellis Co. represented the landlord in the LA Fitness lease. John Kalamaras of RealSource Partners and Pat Gilhooly of Clover Co. represented LA Fitness.
