Equus Products Inc., a maker of automotive testing equipment, paid $8.5 million for a 95,000-square-foot building at 17352 Von Karman Ave. in Irvine. The building is set to serve as the headquarters for the company, which plans to relocate from Fountain Valley. The building also will house warehousing, distribution and research and development. MAM-Von Karman LLC, the previous owner, started to convert the building into an industrial and office park but lost possession in 2009. Brokers initially tried to attract a new developer but later marketed the building for sale in its current condition. Equus plans its own interior renovation. Cameron Driscoll, Luke McDaniel, Mike Hartel and Travis Haining of Voit Real Estate Services represented Equus. Michael Barreiro of Daum Commercial Real Estate Services represented the seller.
