OC Drivers Risk More on Tech

California State University-Fullerton hosted a public policy presentation by a unit of insurance giant Travelers this month that focused on the risks of using mobile technology while driving.

Drivers in Orange and four other Los Angeles-area counties use mobile devices while behind the wheel at rates exceeding national averages, the Travelers Institute found.

One-fifth of drivers in the five Southern California counties admitted to shopping online while driving.

For more on Travelers Institute findings under its 2019 Travelers Risk Index, see the Sept. 23 print edition of the Business Journal.
