Pacific Alternative Asset Management Co. LLC in Irvine tapped David Weinberger as its new managing director.
The investment management firm oversees $8 billion in assets.
Weinberger will head Paamco’s portfolio with co-founder Bill Knight, who is expected to retire at the end of this year. Weinberger will succeed Knight in his role as head of manager research.
Weinberger arrives from O’Connor Partners Investment in Chicago, where he served as a general partner since 1992. He also held a vice president job at New York-based Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
Paamco has additional offices in Singapore and London. It has 130 employees companywide.
