Kathmandu to Buy Rip Curl

Outdoor retailer Kathmandu Holdings Ltd. said Monday it plans to buy Australian surf brand Rip Curl Group Pty Ltd.

The purchase price is A$350 million, or $235.25 million based on current exchange rates.

Rip Curl has North American headquarters in Costa Mesa, with a local headcount of more than 250 and sales of $325 million.
