Vocational School Operator Acquires Fresno College

Irvine-based International Education Corp. has acquired a Fresno career college.

The vocational college operator announced the acquisition Friday of MCed Career College in Fresno.

MCed Career College is a private institution that offers career-focused programs in healthcare, business, legal, security information technology and others.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

MCed Career College will change its name to UEI College.

UEI College is International Education’s brand of schools offering degrees in healthcare, business, technology and criminal justice. It has 10 other campuses in California.

The college opened its newest campus in Anaheim in March.

The transaction marks International Education’s second acquisition in the past 12 months.

It acquired Cerritos-based American Auto Institute last year.
