Ingram Micro Buys Minnesota IT Firm

Santa Ana-based Ingram Micro Inc. has acquired a Minnesota Internet technology provider to bolster its professional services offerings for its network of global resellers. Financial details of the buy were undisclosed.

Rollouts Inc., located on the outskirts of Minneapolis, serves the retail, healthcare, finance, and education industries and the public sector with an online network of more than 15,000 technicians. The company said it’s installed more than half a million devices, such as point-of-sale equipment, IT routers and servers, and data and electrical cabling, at some 100,000 locations.

It will help install products for Ingram’s resellers.

Rollouts Chief Executive Mark Webster will lead the services practice as director of North America Deployment Services, reporting to Greg Richey, director of professional services for Ingram Micro.

The purchase plays into Chief Executive Alain Monie’s push to steer Ingram Micro into higher-margin business lines since he took the top post in early 2012.

Ingram Micro is the world’s largest distributor of computers, software and other technology products, with sprawling operations around the globe.

Its shares are up nearly 1% in afternoon trading to a market value of about $4.58 billion.
