Incipio Technologies Inc. in Irvine said it signed a multiyear licensing deal with Burton Snowboards to manage the manufacturing and distribution of accessories for various mobile devices for the Burlington, Vt.-based company.
The offerings under the Burton name will include regular and charging phone cases for Apple and Samsung devices, decked out in “seasonal prints and signature designs” inspired by the snowboard brand.
The licensing agreement also includes the co-branded edition of “rugged, waterproof, portable Bluetooth speakers” from Incipio’s audio division, Braven LC, which it acquired in 2013.
Burton, aside from snowboards, sells apparel, bags, goggles and helmets. Incipio had about $200 million in sales last year through big retail chains, such as Best Buy, various telecommunication companies’ retail locations, and its own website. It competes with a number of brands, including Anaheim-based Targus Group International Inc.
