Irvine-based HireRight Inc., a provider of employment and drug screening services, has expanded into Europe with its latest acquisition.
The company said Wednesday it has acquired Powerchex Ltd., a pre-employment screening company based in London.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Powerchex provides pre-employment screening to financial companies in Britain, where it performs background, employment history, criminal records and professional qualifications of applicants.
As part of the acquisition, HireRight said Powerchex managing director and founder Alexandra Kelly will manage the business from its headquarters in London.
Powerchex has worked with HireRight in the past on screening companies in Europe, according to Powerchex’s Kelly said in a statement.
HireRight itself was bought in 2008 by Virginia’s US Investigations Services LLC for $195 million.
