Dana Point-based communications company SimpleSignal Inc. has agreed to sell for $25.3 million to Vonage Holdings Corp., a Holmdel, N.J.-based provider of telephone services via broadband connection.
SimpleSignal specializes in cloud-based “unified communications and collaboration,” and provides voice, video and mobile services. It has about 1,600 small and medium businesses as customers. It last year ranked among the top 100 cloud-services providers in the U.S. and is expected to generate about $16.8 million in revenue this year.
SimpleSignal was founded in 2004 by Dave Gilbert, who serves as chief executive.
It was not disclosed whether any leadership changes or office relocations would occur.
Publicly traded Vonage has about $1.1 billion in market capitalization. It had about $869 million in revenue and $20 million in profit last year.
