Huntington Beach-based insurer Confie has entered the Massachusetts market with the acquisition of Axiom Insurance Agency in Springfield.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Axiom provides personal insurance in the Springfield, New Bedford and Worchester markets. All Axiom employees will become part of Confie, the company said.
Confie Chief Executive Valeria Rico said the company wants to buy other companies Massachusetts and specifically in the Boston area.
Confie was established in 2008 and has grown largely via acquisitions of smaller brokerage firms throughout the U.S. The company has about 700 retail locations and generates about $500 million in annual revenue.
The Business Journal ranked Confie No. 21 among OC insurance brokers, with $6.8 million in local revenue.
