Balboa Capital Moves to Costa Mesa

Non-bank lender Balboa Capital plans to move its headquarters to Costa Mesa from Irvine.

The company intends to occupy a 28,000-square foot suite on the top two floors at the MET, a 12-story building at 575 Anton Blvd.

The company said it needs the additional office space for its growing sales and operations divisions.

Balboa’s new office is split over two floors and is connected by a newly constructed staircase in in the company’s new lobby.

“Our convenient South Coast Metro location, proximity to major freeways and distinctive work environment will help us to attract top talent in Orange County and its surrounding regions,” said Robert Rasmussen, chief operating officer at Balboa Capital.

Balboa Capital is one of the first big tenants at the Met since the building was renamed from The MetroCenter at South Coast and renovations began earlier this year.

Balboa Capital was founded in 1988 in Irvine and has financed $4.8 billion in small business loans, equipment financing and franchise finance. The company employs over 250 nationwide.
