Alphaeon Buys Utah Software Co.

Irvine-based Alphaeon Corp. has bought the worldwide licensing rights to TouchMD, a line of software for doctors, for $22 million.

Privately held Alphaeon owns various “lifestyle healthcare” businesses that don’t rely on insurance reimbursements, and works with doctors.

TouchMD is based in Cedar City, Utah. It’s designed to help specialist doctors educate their patients before, during and after consultations.

Alphaeon said in a news release that TouchMD software is now used by more than 800 physician offices in more than 10 countries. The subsidiary of Newport Beach-based Strathspey Crown Holdings LLC is going to be responsible for all operations, sales, marketing and promotion of TouchMD domestically and internationally.
