Newport Beach-based Alliant Insurance Services Inc. has acquired American Benefits Consulting in New York.
Terms of the deal weren’t announced.
Alliant, which is headed by Chief Executive Tom Corbett, is among the largest insurance brokerage firms in the U.S. and the largest with headquarters in Orange County. It had about $548 million in revenue in 2013, the latest figure available.
American Benefits Consulting was founded in 1979 and has about 50 employees across its New York headquarters and its Pennsylvania office. Founder and Chief Executive Peter Worth has been named vice chairman of Alliant.
This deal marks Alliant’s third employee benefits acquisition in the past year. The company bought Sagewell Partners in Pittsburgh in January 2014, and in December acquired the Camps Group in New York.
