OC Art Museum Names New CEO

The Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA) has appointed Heidi Zuckerman to serve as its new chief executive and director, starting Feb. 8.

Zuckerman was the Nancy and Bob Magoon CEO and Director at the Aspen Art Museum from 2005-2019. She is the host of the podcast Conversations with Artists and is the author of the Conversations About Art book series.

Zuckerman, who has curated more than 200 museum exhibitions, will take charge of all aspects of OCMA’s programs, including completion of its new $75 million home at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, scheduled to open in mid-2022.

She replaces Todd D. Smith, who departed last August to take a similar position at a museum in North Carolina.

Zuckerman received her Honors BA in European History from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her MA in Art History from CUNY Hunter College and is a graduate of Harvard Business School Executive Education, Women on Boards.
