University of California, Irvine, said its senior associate dean of academic affairs, Rajeev Tyagi, will remain interim dean of the Paul Merage School of Business through the 2013-2014 academic year.
Tyagi, who also serves as a professor in marketing, was named interim dean earlier this year and took up the duties in July.
UC Irvine’s executive vice chancellor and provost, Howard Gillman, is overseeing the search for a dean to succeed Andy Policano, who stepped down in June after nine years of serving as dean. Policano continues to serve as a faculty member at the business school and as director of its Center for Investment and Wealth Management.
The university would not confirm whether Tyagi is in the running for the permanent position.
