Singapore-based ChangedEdu invested in Irvine-based Collegewise, according to Collegewise. Collegewise plans to expand its services to Asia, including Singapore.
Collegewise bills itself as the largest privately run college counseling organization in the U.S.. It assists students with college admissions and says it’s helped more than 10,000 students since it was founded in 1999 by Kevin McMullin.
It also provides Jumpstart, a program for 8th thru 10th graders. This is an online project management system for counselors and students to organize and manage the college research and application process.
Brian Rogove founded ChangedEdu in 2016. It runs education-sector investment platforms in the U.S., the U.K., and Southeast Asia. ChangeEdu uses the funds it raises to invest in for-profit education businesses like Collegewise. It’s financial partner is, Verlinvest, a Belgian investment firm owned by the family shareholder group that controls global brewer Inbev, which owns Anheuser Busch.
