Ingram Micro’s Locklear, Other Businesswomen Honored

Ingram Micro Inc. finance executive Lisa Locklear and four other businesswomen were honored Tuesday at the Business Journal’s 16th annual Women in Business awards luncheon in Irvine.

Locklear, North American chief financial officer for Ingram Micro, was awarded for being one of the most prominent women executives in the county.

Ingram Micro, a distributor of technology products, is the county’s largest company by revenue with yearly sales of $30 billion.

Locklear oversees finances for North America, the company’s largest market making up 40% of sales.

She’s also involved in several causes, including United Way Orange County and the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine.

The other honorees:

  • Pamela Adams, who heads up the Adams Financial Group at Well Fargo Advisors, a wealth management subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Co.
  • Julie Schoenbachler, vice president of operations for Irvine-based apartment investor and operator Bascom Group of Irvine. Schoenbachler oversees more than $1 billion worth of apartments, or about a third of Bascom’s holdings.
  • Lula Halfacre, chief executive and cofounder of Newport Beach’s Traditional Jewelers. Halfacre started the company in 1977 with her husband, Marion Halfacre, and has led the company since his death three years ago.
  • Linda White-Peters, president of development at Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana. White-Peters oversees fundraising for the educational nonprofit.

About 750 people were on hand for the event at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.

Linda LoRe, chief executive of the retail division of New York-based Frederick’s of Hollywood Group Inc., was the event’s keynote speaker.

LoRe, who grew up in Anaheim, said having passion for what you do is the most important thing.

She said she turned down jobs at Frederick’s twice before and finally accepted after realizing the company was full of good people who were in need of leadership.

“When you want to get ahead in business or your personal life, passion is essential—not just in the lingerie world,” she said.
