Anduril Buys Maker of Next-Gen Drone ‘Fury’

rAnduril says reach within Pentagon expanded

Defense contractor Anduril Industries Inc.in Costa Mesa said today it has acquired Blue Force Technologies, which has been developing Fury, a next-gen drone aircraft with fighter-like looks and performance, since 2019. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Anduril said the purchase significantly increases its “reach and impact” within the U.S. Defense Department. The Fury is officially designated as an “autonomous air vehicle.” Anduril has developed and acquired other military-grade drone and counter-drone products since its founding six years ago.

Morrisville, N.C.-based Blue Force serves both military and commercial customers.

Anduril, founded by OC entrepreneur Palmer Luckey, said it is making significant investments to continue the development of Fury, expand manufacturing operations in North Carolina and accelerate development of critical technologies.
