OC Automakers See Mixed July

Mazda North American Operations notched the largest percentage increase in July sales locally amid a generally mixed month for OC automakers.

The Irvine-based company saw sales rise 3.4% in July to 24,085 vehicles. The CX-5 compact SUV accounted for the largest share of Mazda’s overall sales with 11,878 units sold.

Fountain Valley-based Hyundai Motor America Inc. saw a 1% increase in July sales from a year ago to 57,677 vehicles.

Kia Motor America Inc. of Irvine reported sales down 1.7% from a year earlier to 52,479.

Fountain Valley luxury automaker Genesis Motor America Inc. said sales fell 20.7% from the year-ago period to 1,257.
