Irvine-based Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA named Masafumi Nakagawa president, effective April 1.
Nakagawa succeeds Takeshi Teranishi, who was named president of Japan-based Kawasaki Motors Corp. Teranishi oversaw the company at a time when it released several new vehicles.
Nakagawa has been with their parent, Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan, since 1977, working in various sales and marketing positions in Europe, Japan and the U.S.
Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA handles sales and marketing in Irvine for the company’s motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-side vehicles, and personal watercrafts.
It has about 300 employees here.
