Irvine automaker Kia America said reservations were filled in a day for its limited edition first run of the EV6 crossover.
The company relaunched its reservation site Tuesday after shutting it down last week to add more bandwidth. The automaker said reservations, which required a $100 deposit, were filled the same day the site came back online.
The company made 1,500 of the electric vehicles available for pre-sale, with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $58,500.
The model is Kia America’s first fully electric vehicle and one of 11 that will be released to the global market over the next five years.
