Automotive parts and machine tools maker Hyundai Wia Machine America Corp. opened a showroom and technical center for customer training in Cypress, its first facility in the Western U.S.
Hyundai Wia is part of Hyundai Motor Co., a South Korea-based conglomerate and one of the largest automakers in the world. Hyundai Motor has a U.S. corporate office temporarily in Costa Me-sa while its permanent home in Fountain Valley is under construction.
Hyundai Wia’s Orange County location, dubbed the West Coast Solution Center, comes two years after the company opened its U.S. headquarters and technical center in Carlstadt, N.J.
The Cypress location includes a 2,000-square-foot showroom that features a number of computer-numerical-control machine tools for display and demonstrations.
Hyundai Wia also is looking to open a technical center in Chicago, as well as in “key markets” globally, including Brazil and Germany.
