Genesis Motor America LLC reports January sales of 3,638 units, “a best-ever January” according to the brand. 2022 sales show an increase of 29% from last year with 2,814 sold in the first month of 2021. The Fountain Valley-based automaker’s 2022 GV80 led total sales making up 33% in total with 1,200 units sold. Genesis’ newest addition of its G90 sedan flagship, a refreshed and higher-tech version of the vehicle, sold 187 units.Â
The company is currently being led by interim CEO JosĂ© Muñoz after former president and CEO Mark Del Rosso stepped down from the company in September. The CEO position remains open. Â
The luxury automaker saw the largest percentage gain in sales on the Business Journal’s list of automakers in 2021, reporting an increase of nearly 50% to 28,142 as of June 30. Sales continued to increase over the year as Genesis posted record numbers, November 2021 being the third month of sales exceeding 5,000 vehicles jumping 435% from a year ago.
