Irvine-based Mazda North American Operations said it named Nelson Cosgrove as director of its Mazda Motorsports division.
Cosgrove joins the company from Toyota Racing Development, where he was a senior manager, and also previously worked at Ford, Penske and Joe Gibbs Racing.
Cosgrove is to report to Mazda North American Operations Chair and CEO Masahiro Moro, who noted in a statement on the appointment, “Nelson is the right person to steer Mazda Motorsports, as he brings a tremendous amount of engineering and motorsports experience.”
