August brought a flurry of high-end home sales in Newport Beach.
Of the six Orange County homes that sold last month above $10 million, four were in Newport Beach with a cumulative price tag of $74.2 million.
Along with the $35 million deal for the “Duffy” house in Newport Harbor, large deals included a $14.2 million sale of a nearly 8,800-square-foot Harbor Island estate.
The five-bedroom, seven-bath home on Harbor Island is one of just 30 homes on the strip that’s home to Donald Bren and the Argyros family, among others.
Two other Newport homes selling last month were an 8,000-square-foot Newport Coast estate for $13.5 million; and a $11.5 million sale on Balboa Island.
In June, the only two OC homes to sell sold above $10 million were in Newport Beach, with half of the four sold in July coming from the city, according to online real estate databases.
About 30 total homes in that price range have sold so far this year in OC.
