Children’s Hospital Orange County in Orange appointed John Henderson vice president and chief information officer.
He replaces Mark Headland, who had held the position for 16 years, according to his LinkedIn profile. He retired earlier this year, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Information technology in healthcare is an area of growing emphasis for hospitals and hospital systems.
Henderson previously served as assistant vice president at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.
Texas Children’s has more than double the 279 beds at CHOC.
