Ten Schools on Federal Watch List

Ten local colleges are on a list of institutions under federal financial monitoring, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

Local schools include an Everest College location in Anaheim, a WyoTech site in Long Beach, Argosy University in Orange, an interior design school in Newport Beach, and several trade schools.

Everest and WyoTech were until recently part of Santa Ana-based Corinthian Colleges Inc.

Schools are on the list for reasons that include late financial statements, debt, and accreditation concerns, said Under Secretary of Education Ted Mitchell in a statement.

It’s the first time the list has been made public, a news report said.

The full list is available here.
