John Krafcik, former Hyundai Motor America Inc. chief, joined the board of Santa Monica-based TrueCar Inc., an online resource for consumers that provides car pricing information and a listing of dealers certified by the company.
Krafcik will serve as a director and be a member of its operating committee.
He parted ways with Fountain Valley-based Hyundai at the end of last year, when his contract with the company expired.
He’s credited with helping grow the company’s U.S. market share and record sales through an aggressive new-vehicle design rollout.
