Major donors, employees and others attended the July 7 groundbreaking of a new PBS SoCal studio headquarters at 3080 Bristol St. in Costa Mesa. The groundbreaking kicks off new initiatives proposed by PBS SoCal Chief Executive Mel Rogers, including the $14 million “Education and Community Through Media” initiative, which calls on businesses to help the station with projects and programming. Costa Mesa major Gary Monahan attended the groundbreaking, as well as donors Paul Musco, founder and chairman of Santa Ana-based Gemini Industries Inc, and local philanthropist and singer Mary Lyons.
