The 360-room Anabella Hotel opened for business last week at the edge of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. For now, 150 rooms and a restaurant called the Tangerine Grill & Patio are open to the public. The balance of the rooms are scheduled to open within a few weeks.
The hotel, owned by FJS Inc., replaces two motels that formerly occupied the 7.5 acre site at the corner of Katella Avenue and Disneyland Drive. The project cost an estimated $10 million.
When complete, the Anabella will include two swimming pools, a Jacuzzi, a fitness center, a business center, the restaurant and four meeting rooms with about 2,000 total square feet of space.
The hotel is the second to open in Anaheim this year. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, a 750-room hotel inside the new California Adventure amusement park, opened in January.
Costa Mesa-based Ayres Group is likely to be the next hotel developer to open new lodgings in Anaheim, with the debut of the Ayres Hotel in Anaheim scheduled for May. That four-story hotel, across Katella Avenue from the Arrowhead Pond, will have 135 junior suites and meeting and conference facilities for up to 100 people.
