WHY: Newest leader of Irvine-based Western wear apparel firm, with $1.9B in annual net sales, almost 500 stores and a market cap of $5.3B as of mid-October.  

IN THE NEWS: Appointed full-time CEO in May after previous exec Jim Conroy exited top role to join Ross Stores in November 2024. Since Hazen’s promotion, shares have grown about 47% to around $165 apiece as of September. Company on track to surpass $2B in sales for fiscal 2026.  

NOTABLE: Joined the retailer (NYSE: BOOT) as chief digital officer in 2018, overseeing e-commerce, marketing and customer experience and working with merchandising and store operations to enhance brand’s omnichannel presence. Previously worked at Ring, True Religion and Nike.
