Aliso Viejo-based medical device maker Vertos Medical Inc. said today that it has closed a fifth round of financing for $23 million.
Vertos makes interventional devices that treat lumbar spinal stenosis, or a narrowing of the spinal canal, without major surgery.
Pitango Venture Capital of Israel led the round. Other existing Vertos investors participated, including Menlo Park-based Onset Ventures and Superior, Colorado-based Aweida Venture Partners.
Vertos said in a release that it was using the funding to expand its domestic commercialization and launch its devices in the European market.
The company does not release revenue or employee numbers.
