The S&P 500 fell 0.11% to 1,607.06 in midday trading Thursday.
The Dow Jones industrial average was off 0.49% to 14,887.44, while the Nasdaq was down 0.31% to 3,390.85.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond slipped 3.05% to 2.04%.
The price of gold rose 1.24% to 1,415.90 per ounce.
Irvine-based Netlist Inc. surged about 51% to $1.16 on unusually high volume. The memory board maker was trading nearly 40 times its average daily volume. Netlist said Monday that a U.S. District Court judge ruled against a motion by Smart Motion for a preliminary injunction against Netlist’s HyperCloud line of products, which are designed to handle large amounts of memory. Netlist had a recent market value of $36.37 million.
Shares of Irvine-based medical device maker Endologix Inc. were off about 4% to $12.55 for a market value of $788.11 million. The company is down about 9% so far this year.
