The Nasdaq was down 0.45% to 3,173 in midday trading Monday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.27% to 13,556.
The S&P 500 was off 0.30% at 1,461.
The yield on a 10-year treasury bond fell 1.87% to 1.84%.
The price of gold dropped 0.19% to $1,769 per ounce.
Shares of Newport Beach-based American Vanguard Corp. rose 6% to $33 after the company announced a dividend increase. That gave American Vanguard a market value of about $921 million.
Irvine-based memory board maker Netlist Inc. was down about 10% to $1.49 for a market value of about $42 million.
