The Los Angeles Kings are on hold due to the labor standoff that’s held up the start of the National Hockey League season, but the defending champions will bring one of the most famous trophies in sports to Orange County.
The Stanley Cup will highlight a visit to the Brea offices of Mercury Insurance Group, a sponsor of the team. The Kings’ Ice Crew cheerleading squad will join team mascot Bailey in displaying the Stanley Cup tomorrow morning at Mercury Insurance’s office at 555 West Imperial Highway in Brea between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
It is tradition for the National Hockey League champions to travel with the Stanley Cup. The trophy has traveled as far as Hrusica, Slovenia this off-season.
