The Nasdaq was off 0.22% to 3,005, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.07% to 13,012.
The yield on a 10-year treasury bond fell 0.25% to 1.62%.
The price of gold was off 0.25%, to 1.62%.
Shares of Anaheim Questcor Pharmaceuticals Inc. fell 7% to $26; earlier in the day, Japanese investment bank Mizuho initiated coverage of the drug maker with a “neutral” rating.
Tustin-based drug developer Peregrine Pharmaceuticals Inc. rose about 20% to $1 for a market value of $146 million.
Shares of Anaheim Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. fell about 13% to $2, a day after the action-sports retailer announced disappointing guidance for the January quarter. Pacific Sunwear had a recent market value of $111 million.
