New CEO at Modular Wind Energy

Huntington Beach-based Modular Wind Energy Inc. has tapped Gregor Gnaedig as chief executive.

Former Chief Executive and co-founder Myles Baker will remain with the company as chief technical officer.

Modular Wind Energy makes blades for wind turbines and serves wind turbine manufacturers. It moved to Orange County from Long Beach in 2010.

Modular Wind Energy said it is moving from research and development to production. Its first commercial turbine blades are expected to be installed in the U.S. and Europe next year.

Gnaedig arrives from Hamburg, Germany, where he was chief operating officer at Repower Systems SE, a subsidiary of Pune, India-based Suzlon Energy Ltd.

Gnaedig has held other executive positions at companies in the power-generation business, including Zurich, Switzerland-based ABB Alstom Power.
