Disney Gives $5 Million to CHOC

Disneyland Resort in Anaheim said today it will donate $5 million to Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

Burbank-based Walt Disney Co.’s Disneyland Resort includes Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure and the Downtown Disney District retail center.

Disneyland Resort said that the gift includes sponsorship of the lobby in CHOC’s seven-story pediatric tower, which is under construction and set to open in spring 2013.

George Kalogridis, the resort’s president, is a member of CHOC’s board of directors. Disneyland Resorts hosts CHOC Walk in the Park, the hospital’s largest annual fund-raiser.

The resort’s gift has boosted CHOC’s “Change CHOC, Change the World” fund-raising campaign past the $100 million milestone, said Kim Cripe, the hospital’s chief executive, in a release.
