Irvine-based food distributor Golden State Foods Corp. has tapped attorney Dimetria Jackson to lead the company’s social responsibility and sustainability initiatives.
Jackson will join the company as director of its Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy, a position previously held by Dave Pedersen, who moved to a similar post at L.A.-based shoe company Toms. Jackson will oversee initiatives focused on the environment and local community development. She also will coordinate participation in events such as Earth Day.
Jackson is wrapping a one-year term as president of the Orange County Bar Association and also is chief executive of redBambina.com, a children’s clothing site. She previously served as senior vice president and general counsel at Santa Ana-based First American Trust.
Golden State Foods is the third-largest private company in Orange County, with $5.4 billion in revenue last year. It processes and packages liquid, meat and bakery products for the quick-service restaurant industry, including its biggest customer, McDonald’s Corp. Golden State Foods has about 50 employees in Orange County and 4,000 companywide.
