The Nasdaq was up 0.31% to 3,087 in midday trading Wednesday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.30% to 13,142.
The S&P 500 was up 0.33% to 1,414.
The yield on a 10-year treasury bond rose 1.6% to 1.66%.
The price of gold was off 0.39% to $1,665 per ounce.
Shares of BJ’s Restaurants Inc., a Huntington Beach-based operator of casual-dining restaurants, rose 2% to $41.
BJ’s, which had a market value of about $1 billion, opened a restaurant in Boulder, Colo. this week that replaced the company’s smaller concept BJ’s Pizza and Grill. The company expects to open as many as six more restaurants by the end of the year.
