Premer to New Post at Pac Life

Newport Beach-based Pacific Life Insurance Co. has promoted T. Anthony Premer to senior vice president of the company’s real estate investments, effective Jan. 1, 2013.

Premer will succeed Executive Vice President Michael Robb—a 36-year veteran of the company who plans to retire at the end of the year—and report to President Khanh Tran.

Premer, who joined Pacific Life in 1993, had been senior vice president in the company’s real estate finance division.

He has worked on more than $22 billion of originations of commercial real estate loans. His new roles will include managing Pacific Life’s portfolio of real estate debt and investments, which total about $28 billion.

Premer is part of the advisory board of the University of California, Irvine’s Center for Real Estate at the Paul Merage School of Business.

Pacific Life is the largest private company in Orange County with more than $116 billion in assets.
